I dropped off my Renault Master at Renault Trucks Chambéry for a simple diagnostic, which revealed a coolant leak. The garage informed me that the EGR cooler was faulty and needed to be replaced. I accepted their quote of over €2,000 excluding VAT, and the repair was carried out. Once the vehicle was "repaired," I was first called to collect my vehicle, before being informed of another problem: the workshop manager now thinks it's a blown cylinder head gasket, which means a failed engine! When I asked why the cylinder head hadn't been checked before carrying out such an expensive repair on the intercooler, I was condescendingly told that it takes too long and that, according to them, in 90% of cases, it's the intercooler that's the problem, not the cylinder head. The result: I ended up with a €2,000 bill for an unusable vehicle, accused of bad faith by the staff, even though this wasn't the first time this garage had made incorrect diagnoses. An extremely disappointing experience, bordering on scandalous, a garage to avoid, to flee immediately.
